Costa Mesa —–> SF

6 days from today Jake and I will embark on a 800k journey from charming E. Costa Mesa to SF. As you can imagine im ridiculously excited! So excited that I spent 5 hours straight making a bike bag/travel banner last night specifically for this trip. I am very pleased with how it turned out. (I’ve broken it down step by step at the end of the post in case someone else wants to make one!)

got to dust off the ol’ Rabenik I got in Germany last year…rides like a dream.

I can only hope for good weather (like today’s) for our big bike trip up to SF next week!

new old helmet

i found this vintage Equestrian helmet at the Long Beach Veterans Swap Meet last weekend

when i saw it i knew instantly that it would be my new cycling helmet

i just need to attach a simple chin-strap and it will be good to go

best $10 i have spent in a long time
